Day 36 – Marc - Auzat

Today is a small hike to get me to the town of Auzat. This allows me to not have a gruling hike the next day. The GR10 is a tricky balance of managing distance and elevation gain and loss while still having a place to stay. I meet many through hikers that have a tent which makes it simpler for them to just go as far as they can without any constraints but you do have to carry the tent and the food supplies !
Corinne and I enjoyed the forest and mostly shaded hike while talking a lot 😀. We did miss a couple of turns at times because of us chatting away … which led to the fun encounter of a heard of horses.
The village of Auzat is decorated with flower beds along the little river of Saleix where we have a nice lunch break.

Aujourd'hui c'est une petite randonnée pour aller à Auzat. Cela me permet de ne pas avoir une très longue randonnée le lendemain. Le GR10 est un équilibre délicat entre les distances à parcourir, la gestion des dénivelés positifs et négatifs tout en ayant toujours un endroit où dormir. Je rencontre beaucoup de GR10ste qui ont une tente, ce qui leur permet d'aller le plus loin possible sans aucune contrainte mais il faut porter la tente et les provisions !
Corinne et moi apprécions notre ballade en forêt le long de la rivière Vicdessos. Nous en profitons pour beaucoup discuter 😀 ce qui nous a fait perdre le sentier parfois … et permis la rencontre d'un troupeau de chevaux.
Le centre du village d'Auzat est superbement fleuri le long de la petite rivière de Saleix où nous faisons une belle pause déjeuner.
