Day 28 – Sentein

I might as well call day 28 a rest day. In my original GR10 plan, I was supposed to be in a different town the day before that was further south. But the hostel closed and I had to come up with a plan B. That plan B put me in a village close to my last stop.

I basically had to walk from one village to another. I therefore enjoyed a late start followed by a short walk and a lot of doing nothing by the river. Listening to an audio book, doing some stretching, and napping under a tree.

If I truly think about it, I don’t get to do that often in my normal life, because I always have something to do or places to go …. The art of doing nothing is nonetheless much better when you are looking at a blue sky, mountains and hearing the sound of a river !

Yesterday, Christophe should have joined me for a few days. But some last minute family emergency changed that. Instead, my parents and my son visited me. Francois is doing the grand parents tour and I just arrived at my parents. And since they are less than 90 minutes away …. I was happy to see them.

Je pourrais aussi bien dire que la journée 28 est un jour de repos. Dans mon plan original GR10, je devais être dans une autre ville la veille, plus au sud. Mais l'auberge avait fermé et j'ai dû trouver un plan B. Ce plan B m'a placé dans un village proche de mon dernier arrêt.

Du coup j’ai essentiellement marché d'un village à l'autre. J'ai donc apprécié un départ tardif suivi d'une courte marche et beaucoup de "farniente" au bord de la rivière. J’ai écouté un livre audio, fait des sudokus et fait la sieste sous un arbre.

Si j'y pense vraiment, je ne fais pas souvent ça dans ma vie normale, parce que j'ai toujours quelque chose à faire …. L'art de ne rien faire est pourtant bien meilleur quand on regarde un ciel bleu, des montagnes et qu'on entend le bruit d'une rivière !

Hier, Christophe aurait dû me rejoindre pour quelques jours. Mais une urgence familiale de dernière minute a modifié tout ça. A la place, mes parents et mon fils m'ont rendu visite. François faisant la tournée des grands parents, venait d'arriver chez mes parents. Et comme ils sont à moins de 90 minutes…. J'étais contente de les voir.
